SAP AppHaus Methodology

We start every SAP project with the people who will use it

A simple idea with a real effect: solutions people actually use, built right the first time, because the people who'll use them helped shape them from day one.
We're one of only 19 SAP AppHaus Network partners in the world, one of two in the UK, and SAP has accredited us to run this approach on every project we deliver.

Technology changes fast. People don’t.

Why the 'AppHaus' approach?

Technology alone isn't the answer to innovation. It's always changing: a new platform, a new AI model, a new release, each one step ahead of the last. Technology is the symptom. The real business issues, like how people work, what they need and where the friction actually is, are the root cause, and they stay remarkably consistent.

The AppHaus approach starts with your people and how they actually work, then finds technology that fits around them. Before any platform decision, we help you define the real challenges and barriers in your business, including the ones that would quietly stop new technology from taking hold. We also map the technology you already have and the gaps it could fill. Get that right, and the technology choices get a lot easier.

APPHAUS ETHOS DRIVING INNOVATION

Design Thinking Methodology

Design thinking is an established methodology built around five stages: empathise, define, ideate, prototype and test. It grew out of architecture and industrial design in the mid-20th century, and Stanford's d.school and IDEO brought it into the mainstream in the 1990s.

SAP built the AppHaus Network around it because it solves a problem specific to enterprise software: solutions that struggle to get adopted, workarounds that creep in within weeks of launch, and requirements that looked right on paper but don't match how the business actually works.

Catching those problems at go-live, once they're buried in a live system, is expensive. That's why the AppHaus Network treats design thinking as essential, and why projects delivered this way get adopted and used.

IN THE DNA OF EVERY PROJECT

How the methodology shapes our work

Everything in the AppHaus methodology comes back to one principle: the people who will use a solution should shape it. Here's what that means for your project.

Your users help define the problem

The people closest to the work show us where the friction really is, so your project sets out to fix what matters most to them.

The technology fits your people

We choose the technology once we understand how your people work, so you invest in what they'll actually use.

Your users want to use it

Designs are tested with the people who'll use them along the way, so the finished solution already feels familiar. It fits how they work, which means faster adoption and less time spent on training and change management.

Where Innovation Happens

Our AppHaus is based in a converted church in Oswestry, Shropshire. It has offices, conference rooms, a usability lab and an open collaborative space, all designed specifically for this kind of work.

Shropshire is an understated location for innovation. It's the birthplace of both the modern Olympic Games and the Industrial Revolution. Our home county may seem quiet, but its long history of ingenuity fits everything the AppHaus stands for.
