Autoglass Improves Sales Process with SAP BTP to Maintain Market Lead

Autoglass Ireland is the country’s leading vehicle glass repair and replacement provider. At their scale, delivering agile, reliable service is essential to maintaining market leadership. Yet the company had reached a ceiling in operational efficiency and needed to improve its sales process. If left unaddressed, it could threaten its ability to maintain market leadership.

Managing thousands of products, complex vehicle specifications, and largely manual processes made daily workflows feel like piecing together a giant jigsaw puzzle without knowing what the finished picture should look like. Orders took longer to process, depot managers spent valuable time tracking down products, and reporting provided little insight into performance or opportunities for improvement. These challenges slowed growth, limited the company’s responsiveness to customers and insurance partners, and constrained its ability to scale. Autoglass recognised the need for a solution that could improve the sales process and support operational growth.

Recognising the opportunity for swift action and an integrated approach, Autoglass partnered with Bluestonex to streamline sales and warehouse operations through SAP BTP, automating processes and giving teams the clarity and control required to keep the business moving forward.

About the Client

  • Name: Autoglass Ireland (formerly AllGlass)

  • Industry: Vehicle repair and replacement

  • Headquarters: Ireland

  • Employees: Approximately 500

  • Markets Served: Nationwide, serving both insurance partners and direct customers

For Autoglass, efficiency is critical. Accurate product identification, fast order processing, and seamless coordination across depots directly impact customer satisfaction and operational growth. Their IT and data systems are central to this mission, enabling timely service and strategic decision-making.

Business Challenges

Autoglass Ireland was facing several operational pressures as it looked to modernise its processes. The company was new to SAP and reliant on a third-party outsourcer without specialist SAP knowledge, leaving teams without in-house expertise to manage systems effectively.

Their existing tools and workflows posed multiple challenges. Agents and customers navigated dated systems with poor user experience, while manual processes slowed order handling. Depot managers had to manage a warehouse containing over 65,000 items, and complex product identification—particularly for imported vehicles—added further difficulty. Reporting capabilities were limited, restricting insight into operations and performance.

These challenges directly impacted everyday operations, creating inefficiencies and slowing key workflows. Autoglass recognised the need for a solution that could improve the sales process, enhance usability, and provide better operational control.

Engagement and Solution Journey

Bluestonex implemented a structured five-phase approach to deliver transformation:

  1. Initial Workshop: Mapped existing workflows, identified pain points, and captured requirements for the new solution.

  2. App Adaptation: Leveraged Bluestonex’s existing Product Purchase App as an accelerator, customised with Autoglass branding and extended features to meet their needs.

  3. SAP BTP Configuration: Set up BTP subaccounts, defined user roles, and supported ERP licence management to ensure full operational readiness.

  4. Application Configuration: Enabled order history, item limitations, and simplified product identification to streamline depot operations and improve sales process efficiency.

  5. Deployment and Support: Rolled out the app, provided post-go-live support, and managed onboarding for new insurance partners.

In addition, Bluestonex delivered SAP Finance process support, providing training on report generation, invoice layouts, and custom field configuration to strengthen operational reporting.

Real Impact Across the Business

The implementation of the SAP BTP application delivered immediate and tangible benefits for Autoglass Ireland. Depot managers could now search for, identify, and purchase products independently, reducing reliance on manual lookups and streamlining daily workflows.

Through the new application, 4,500 individual direct sales were processed efficiently, without the need to increase headcount for product identification, saving hiring costs. The improved workflows also enhanced turnaround times, allowing standard parts to be managed more quickly and effectively, and helped improve the sales process overall.

These outcomes demonstrate how the solution supported operational efficiency, empowered depot managers, and enabled the business to improve its sales process, while maintaining control and oversight over key workflows.

Measuring the Impact

The SAP BTP application delivered measurable improvements across multiple areas of Autoglass’ operations:

  • Operational Efficiency: Manual processing was reduced, and sales orders could be handled more quickly, streamlining day-to-day workflows.

  • Employee Productivity: The application effectively freed the equivalent of three full-time employees, allowing teams to focus on higher-value tasks.

  • Customer Experience: Orders were more accurate and processed faster, improving service for both insurance partners and end customers.

  • Financial Impact: By reducing the need for additional staffing and increasing workflow efficiency, the business realised tangible cost savings.

These metrics highlight how the solution not only improved individual processes but also strengthened overall operational performance and organisational capacity.

Looking Ahead

Autoglass and Bluestonex continue to build on the success of the SAP BTP implementation. Future plans include automating and streamlining the invoice process using Bluestonex’s existing Automated Invoicing application as an accelerator.

The Product Purchase App will also be further configured to support new offerings, such as wipers, while additional applications for warehouses and depots, including Bin-to-Bin and Goods Receipt apps, are planned to further improve the sales process and enhance operational efficiency.
