The SAP BTP Diamond Game is an interactive board game designed to make SAP's Business Technology Platform (BTP) easier to understand. The Purpose

The game’s purpose is to simplify the complexity of SAP BTP and show how it can be applied to real-world business scenarios. It helps companies grasp how BTP enhances their S/4HANA capabilities, offers a complete solution, and delivers tangible business benefits.

The History

The idea originated in a Paris game bar, where Raphael Walter and Pierre-Yves Tohmé, both SAP BTP experts, wanted to create something fun and engaging to explain BTP. After several iterations, they developed the Diamond format, which effectively encapsulates the BTP offering.



The Methodology

The game uses gamification to make learning about SAP BTP interactive and strategic. Players are challenged to think like business leaders, making decisions on how best to use BTP services. The game highlights BTP’s role in supporting S/4HANA, its comprehensive capabilities, and its relevance to business success.

The Rules

Players, either solo or in teams of three, simulate running a company over three years. They start with four cards (service or bonus) and must decide whether to invest, disregard, or strategise for each, while managing their budget. Challenge cards and unforeseen events add complexity. The winner is the team with the highest combined score in business power, IT power, and budget after three years.
