Enhancing Efficiency with an SAP User Experience Strategy
Introduction to the Client
Eurocell is the UK’s market-leading manufacturer and distributor of quality PVC-U profiles for UPVC windows, UPVC doors, UPVC conservatories, UPVC fascias, UPVC soffits, UPVC guttering, and rainwater systems. Part of their ongoing improvement includes enhancing the SAP User Experience Strategy.
Eurocell, already running SAP technology (ECC6 EHP7) and recently upgraded to a HANA database, already had SAP Fiori in place for Purchase Order Release. The integration of a sophisticated SAP User Experience Strategy has been key to leveraging technology for business efficiency.
Business Challenges
Eurocell had a mixture of Inventory Management storage locations and Warehouse Managed locations in SAP. Their processes within Warehouse Management were already using Radio Frequency technology and wanted a similar experience for their stock locations across the UK.
The current process was all paper-based with stock/inventory counts being created in SAP, paper processes capturing the count information by stores operatives, and then typed manually back into SAP to record the results. All of which was time-consuming and inefficient.
Engagement Overview
After a user experience workshop studying and observing the processes involved, the Bluestonex design team set to work on a simple but powerful app.
We reviewed the environment and operators and focussed on human-centred design. We wanted to improve the user experience & journey as part of our SAP User Experience Strategy.
We gave the inventory counters an app that was intuitive, easy to navigate, and intelligent.
We delivered a master detail style app that displayed the items to be counted and also would interact with the users if the count information entered varied from a tolerance in SAP inventory records.

The Results
The Eurocell team was delighted with the app and now saves 60 hours per day on the stock count process.
This has given Eurocell the ability to re-use the time spent for more value-add tasks within the stores across the UK.
